EAGAN, Minn. — The Vikings on Tuesday announced they have waived linebacker Brian Asamoah II.
Minnesota also announced receiver Rondale Moore has been placed on Injured Reserve and center Zeke Correll has been waived with an injury designation.
Asamoah played 23 defensive snaps and six special teams snaps Saturday in Minnesota’s 2025 preseason opener against the Houston Texans.
A third-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft (66th overall), Asamoah totaled 188 defensive and 802 special teams snaps over the course of 46 games. He totaled 30 tackles (including special teams), forced two fumbles and recovered one.
Moore, who joined the Vikings this offseason, suffered a knee injury while returning Houston’s first punt. Moore fielded the punt cleanly and tried to find room to his right, but he was tackled along the Texans sideline after a gain of 2. Tests confirmed the injury to be season-ending.
The injury occurred just a year-and-two-days after he suffered a season-ending knee injury while with the Falcons during a joint practice against the Dolphins.
Correll, an undrafted free agent out of N.C. State, played 12 offensive snaps against the Texans in his pro debut before suffering a fractured ankle.
