Moving Day at the 2026 3M Open provided some thrilling action.

Jackson Koivun surged into the lead with a 10-under 61, which included a 28 on the back nine, and will enter Sunday’s final round three shots clear of the field as he looks to establish himself as the future star that many golf fans believe he is. But others also made big moves Saturday, including world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, who carded a 29 on the inward nine to get into the top 10.

Scottie Scheffler began Saturday’s third round seven shots back. He walked off the 18th green tied for the lead. The World No. 1 made five birdies and an eagle on the inward side en route to a 7-under 64 in the third round of the 3M Open. He’s now firmly in contention for his second win of the season and will certainly be the betting favorite entering Sunday’s final round, barring a blistering back nine from Michael Kim or Ben Kohles.

Scottie Scheffler gets within 1 of lead

Never count out the world No. 1. After a pedestrian 35 on the front nine, Scottie Scheffler made three straight birdies on Nos. 10-12, added another at No. 15 and then made an eagle at the par-4 16th to get to 13 under and within one of the lead at the 3M Open.

Scottie Scheffler trying to make a move Saturday

World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler got off to a slow start Saturday, making the turn in even-par 35, but he turned it on to start the back nine, making three straight birdies on Nos. 10-12 to get to 10 under and into the top 15 on the leaderboard.

Final pairing tees off for third round

Solo leader Michael Kim has teed off and the third round of the 3M Open is fully underway. Kim, who made history with a 12-under 59 on Friday, is playing alongside Ben Kohles. Both players opened with pars on Nos. 1 and 2.

Scottie Scheffler gets his third round underway at the 3M

Despite being seven shots off the lead, world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler entered the weekend with still the second-shortest odds to win the 3M Open, only behind solo leader Michael Kim. But he’s going to need a lot of birdies. Scheffler was right in contention and cruising along before putting a bogey and a double bogey on his card late Friday. He began Saturday’s third round with pars on each of the first two holes.

John VanDerLaan nearly aces No. 13

How did this stay out? A beauty of an approach from John VanDerLaan at the 13th gets him to 9 under and into the top 10.
