Athletics catcher Shea Langeliers tore his meniscus, the team announced Sunday, placing him on the 10-day injured list retroactive to July 25.

The All-Star is hitting .263/.332/.497 with 23 home runs, and his injury is a blow to a team that has lost seven of its last 10 games and is sitting fourth in the AL West.

With Langeliers out, the Athletics have recalled catcher Brian Serven from Triple A Las Vegas. This will mark Serven’s third stint with the A’s this season after being optioned on July 15.
