AIKEN — Aiken artist Noble Diller presented an original American flag painting to Congressman Joe Wilson during a visit to Wilson’s Washington, D.C., office on July 2.
The painting is the second American flag artwork Diller has presented to the congressman. His first piece, Stars & Stripes, was presented in January 2024 and is displayed in Wilson’s Aiken County office.

The latest painting, titled USA 250, was inspired by the American flag and commemorates the nation’s recent 250th anniversary. The artwork is now displayed in Wilson’s office in Washington.
According to the Aiken Center for the Arts, those attending the presentation included Diller and his wife, Lisa Diller; members of his family; Aiken Center for the Arts Executive Director Caroline Gwinn and her husband, Layton Gwinn; and Congressman Wilson.
Diller serves on the board of the Aiken Center for the Arts and has been involved in art for much of his life. He studied fine arts at Adrian College in Michigan under Michael Cassino, a first-generation student of artist and educator Joseph Albers. Diller said that experience shaped his understanding of color, line and texture and continues to influence his painting style.
After graduating from Adrian College, Diller attended the Columbia School of Art in New York City to pursue a Master of Fine Arts degree. He later entered the business field, where he spent more than 30 years while continuing to create artwork on a limited basis.
After retiring from business, Diller returned to painting full time. He said he has drawn on decades of experiences and ideas while applying the artistic principles he learned during his education.
