(WLUK) — Governor Tony Evers says he’s been briefed on the storms that made their way through Northeast Wisconsin, leaving behind a path of destruction.
He says the state is ready to assist.
A tornado was observed just after noon in the Appleton-Menasha area, prompting tornado warnings for that area and to the south.
Outagamie County wrote:
Local residents are encouraged to stay home if at all possible as multiple roadways are blocked and will be closed for some time. Further, to aid local authorities as they respond to multiple emergency situations, please hold off on reporting minor, non-emergency situations such as downed trees or other minor, non-threatening damage.First Responders are working to assess the extent of damage. Further, resources are being coordinated for those displaced by any damage.Stay away from downed power lines! Check on neighbors and friends as you are able.
In Menasha, they have set up the following emergency cooling shelters that can provide water and basic assistance:

The city of Appleton and other Fox Valley municipalities say they are responding to and assessing storm damage reports.
Appleton Police Department asks residents to monitor social media for updates.
Neenah police is asking residents to:
Stay away from affected areas unless necessary.Avoid downed power lines and treat all utility lines as energized.Do not drive around barricades or enter areas closed by emergency personnel.Limit non-emergency travel to allow first responders and utility crews access to impacted areas.Call 911 for emergencies. Non-emergency issues should be reported through the appropriate non-emergency channels.
