Lee County deputies were called to a home along Coconut Road in San Carlos Park on Tuesday afternoon.According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, the agency’s violent crimes unit is conducting an active aggravated battery investigation around the corner on U.S. 41 and Sanibel Boulevard. We are working to learn if the two scenes less than half a mile apart are connected. Neighbors in the area told Gulf Coast News this type of criminal activity in the area is concerning. “It’s a pretty quiet area, so to have that happen is is kind of scary,” said William Simpkins. “I believe in the Second Amendment.
