NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – Audubon Nature Institute officials said they have eliminated several positions as part of a broader staffing reduction. Among those laid off was Chief of Staff Gilbert Montano.
Montano was former mayor Latoya Cantrell’s chief administrative officer.
Officials said they have made “organizational changes to better align staffing and financial resources with operational needs and strategic priorities.”
“While we do not discuss individual personnel matters, we can confirm that the Chief of Staff position is among several positions that have been eliminated as part of a broader staffing reduction,” a statement from the institute said.
Audubon added that the structural changes reflect a comprehensive review to ensure “personnel and financial resources are aligned with Audubon’s highest priorities.”
“As we continue to evolve, we remain focused on responsible stewardship of our resources, exceptional care for our animals, support for our employees and delivering outstanding experiences for the guests and communities we serve,” officials said.
