Jason Momoa is unrecognizable in an early look at Street Fighter.
The Aquaman star, 46, transformed into a formidable green giant in a special scene from the upcoming movie Street Fighter, based on the classic games. The clip, shared by Paramount on July 30, sees Momoa’s Blanka with all the character’s hallmarks: slime-green skin, orange locks, an electric shock mechanism and a real zest for a fight.
In the clip, Ryu (played by Andrew Koji) is pitted against Blanka, who comes thundering and roaring from containment as he leaps onto his opponent. Growling and thrashing, Blanka kicks up dust clouds as he crushes stones in his hands and flails wildly — much to the delight of the many onlookers.

With a single kick, Blanka flings a fighter flying into a fence behind him, and the man ricochets and falls to the ground before regaining his footing.
“Stop!” Koji’s Ryu shouts to Blanka. “I do not wish to fight you.”
Blanka, wiggling his head and arms in a mocking manner, replies, “Then, you die,” before scaling the sides of the fighting cage.

A ferocious look brews on Ryu’s face as he stares down his adversary. “I warned you,” he mutters, before clutching his hands together and creating a thick, blue electric current. As bolts flicker around Blanka’s massive body, Momoa’s character has to admit the feat is impressive — and moments later, the green giant is hurtled backward with extreme force.
Per the film’s synopsis, “Street Fighters Ryu and Ken (Noah Centineo) reunite when Chun-Li recruits them for the World Warrior Tournament. As they face a hidden conspiracy, they must confront each other and their past-or face destruction.”
The film, which comes more than three decades after the first adaptation of the game in 1994, also stars Callina Liang, Vidyut Jammwal, Mel Jarnson, 50 Cent, Roman Reigns and Rayna Vallandingham.
Street Fighter punches into theaters Oct. 16.
