Explore Outdoors: Sac State sculpture illuminates the eyes and mind
I love getting out on new hiking trails or waterways to explore and discover the outdoors.
But, there’s also an equally visual way to experience the symbolism of nature: through art.
Which brings us to the Welcome Center on the campus of Sacramento State.
A few steps outside the center is a eye-catching, free-flowing and colorfully transformative sculpture titled, “Tributary.”
The name is meant to invoke thoughts of the Sacramento watershed and area rivers.
But the meanings go much deeper.
And like water flowing down a river, student artists had to deal with challenges along the way to making this sculpture a reality.
To learn more about the deeper meaning and to see what makes this daylight sculpture transformative at sunset, watch the story above.
