Perez Hilton was reportedly hospitalized on Tuesday night after the celebrity news blogger appeared to be self-harming in a TikTok livestream. NBC South Florida reported that deputies arrived at a home in Miami-Dade County after receiving “multiple calls regarding an individual who was livestreaming acts of self-harm on social media.” Neighbors on the scene confirmed that it was Hilton’s home.
Earlier in the evening, Hilton was live on TikTok and appeared to be covered in blood with visible cuts and holding what appeared to be a knife, per NBC News. In a statement to People, Miami-Dade County Sheriff’s Office said that deputies were dispatched after receiving many concerned calls from people who saw the graphic livestream. NBC South Florida captured footage from outside of Hilton’s home of a man inside whom they described as “naked and possibly bloody.”
MDSCO is not naming Hilton in their communications but said in a statement to NBC News that the person they had received calls about was “safely recovered” from their home and taken to a local hospital. Hilton has three children, but the sheriff’s office said that the person taken to the hospital was alone in the home.
Representatives for Hilton released a statement late on Tuesday night stating that they were “aware of the concerning content circulating online” involving Hilton. “At this time, we have not been able to make direct contact with him, despite our ongoing efforts to reach him,” the statement read. “Our primary concern is Perez’s health and well being, as well as the well being of his family. Until we have confirmed information, we will not speculate or comment further. We appreciate everyone’s concern and ask that his privacy be respected during this time.”
Hilton has experienced multiple health struggles this year. In March, he was hospitalized with an ulcer he said he got as a result of taking flu medicine without food. Hilton said that the ulcer ultimately led to a perforation, sepsis, and a three-week hospital stay. In April, the blogger was hospitalized again with a blood clot in his leg. Following his health concerns, Hilton, a Miami native, announced in June that he would be moving back after a three-year stint in Las Vegas.
