Woodby reelected Carter County mayor

Patty Woodby has won reelection as Carter County mayor following a closely contested race with challenger Chris H. Little.
Woodby received 44.01% of the vote, while Little finished with 41.26%. Sue Ann Chambers Ford received 4.35%, and Jeff Williams garnered 10%.
Woodby thanked Carter County voters and said she is committed to serving all residents during her next term.
“I want to say thank you to all Carter Countians, especially the ones who continue to support me,” Woodby said. “Even if you didn’t support me, I’m still going to work just as hard for you as my loyal supporters. I love Carter County, and we’re going to do great things.”
Looking ahead, Woodby said her priorities for the next four years include continuing Hurricane Helene recovery efforts, developing new revenue streams to increase sales tax collections for county services, securing a new hotel for the county and resurfacing roads.

“I’m really grateful to Carter Countians for continuing to believe in me,” Woodby said. “I really want to ask and tell everyone, any time you have a question or concern about any initiatives in Carter County, please call my office. Do not depend on social media. It is a plethora of misinformation and bad information.”
