Airplane carrying ‘Party Animals’ players struck by lightning on way to Lehigh Valley airport, lands safely | Allentown Area

HANOVER TOWNSHIP, Pa. — An airplane on its way to Lehigh Valley International Airport was struck by lightning, according to officials.

Airport officials say the flight, coming from Charlotte Douglas International Airport in North Carolina, landed safely despite being struck.

Garett Delano, a pitcher for the Party Animals, posted on Facebook that he was on the plane when lightning hit.

The Party Animals are set to play two games of Banana Ball at Coca-Cola Park on Friday and Saturday.

“Luckily everything is fine,” Delano said in the post.
