KIRKSVILLE, Mo. – If you’ve driven past Verizon’s parking lot on North Baltimore Street in Kirksville over the past couple months, you may have noticed a mini-golf course set up.
Roaming Fairways started in early June. The pop-up miniature golf course sports 18 holes with all sorts of obstacles. When it gets dark, each of the holes are lined with LED lights, making for a cool visual.
It makes roughly an hour for owner and operator Stephanie Jock and her husband to set up, and they can haul the course anywhere.
Jock told me it’s a chance for them to give back to the community. With their kids all grown up and raising children of their own, they can now provide area families the chance to enjoy a game they used to play each summer.
Roaming Fairways sets up in Verizon’s parking lot every Friday and Saturday night, from 8-11pm, weather permitting.
