Indiana Fever superstar Caitlin Clark once again showed why any game she plays in can quickly turn into a spectacle. And this time, her victim was none other than Breanna Stewart, one of the WNBA’s best defenders and players.
After her eighth technical foul was rescinded Saturday, Clark entered the matchup against the New York Liberty under the spotlight. However, the three-time All-Star wasted little time changing the conversation and reminding everyone why she remains one of the league’s most impactful players.

Midway through the second quarter, Clark was isolated against Stewart after a pick-and-roll action. The two-time MVP tried to stay between Indiana’s guard and the basket, but she gave Clark just enough space.
That was all she needed.
Clark took several steps behind the three-point line, rose over Stewart’s outstretched arms and calmly knocked down a 28-foot three-pointer to give the Fever a 39-27 lead.
The difficulty of the shot, combined with Stewart being the defender, quickly turned the play into a viral moment on social media.

The WNBA community wasted little time reacting to Clark’s spectacular three-pointer.
But the shot over Stewart was just one example of what Clark was doing during a spectacular first half.
From the opening possession, the Indiana star began making her presence felt. She left Pauline Astier behind before knocking down her first three-pointer of the night, then punished the Liberty from long range again, this time over 6-foot-11 center Han Xu.

New York tried to use its size to contain her, but Clark repeatedly found ways to create space and get her shot off.
By halftime, Clark had already scored 18 points, shooting 5-for-9 from the field and an impressive 4-for-5 from three-point range. Her offensive explosion helped Indiana take a comfortable 64-46 lead into the locker room.

Clark’s offensive explosion against the Liberty also confirmed that she is in the midst of a strong stretch from beyond the arc.
On Saturday against the Chicago Sky, she finished with 26 points in Indiana’s 90-86 victory, shooting 7-for-15 from the field and an impressive 5-for-6 on shots from beyond 22 feet.
Now, against one of the league’s best defenses and with Stewart among the players tasked with slowing her down, Clark once again showed that she doesn’t need much room to do damage.
The three-pointer over Stewart wasn’t simply another three-point shot: it was a statement from a Caitlin Clark who appears to have found her best form once again.
