Night 1 Finals Relay Lineups
The first relay of the 2026 Pan Pac Championships will be the 4×100 mixed medley relay. Australia is the top seed and went with a F-M-M-F lineup with Iona Anderson, Samuel Williamson, Matthew Temple, and Meg Harris. The US went with a M-M-F-F lineup with Will Modglin, Van Mathias, Gretchen Walsh, and Kate Douglass.
Despite being seeded behind Australia, the US comes with a loaded relay lineup that includes American Record holder in the men’s 100 breast Van Mathias as well as World Record holder in the women’s 100 fly Gretchen Walsh. Temple holds the Australian national record in the men’s 100 butterfly but the absence of swimmers such as Kaylee McKeown and Mollie O’Callaghan could be felt tonight.
Japan was the only other relay to have their two men’s legs be at the front half of the race. South Africa’s second relay out of lane seven will lead off with two women’s legs of the race, so expect a strong back half from the relay.
