Wednesday Schedule and Results

Wednesday Highlights

Drew Clark capped off Maine’s blowout victory over Vermont with a grand slam.

Clark hit a fifth-inning home run with the bases loaded to seal a victory that ended the game and sent Maine to the New England Regional Final.

Maine first got on the board in Wednesday’s second inning thanks to a two-RBI single from Pierce McCarthy.

Ollie Boisvert added to the lead with an RBI hit of his own in the second before Stewart gave Maine a 4-0 advantage with his first hit of the day in the third inning.

Maine added two runs in the fourth off hits from Boisvert and Jackson Pacanza before Stewart ended the game with his fifth-inning grand slam.

Jackson Burns pitched all five innings for Maine. He earned a complete game shutout after allowing four hits while striking out four batters and allowing no walks.

Maine will now get the chance to play Bridgewater for the New England Regional title against Bridgewater. The winner of Thursday’s championship game will advance to the Little League World Series.

Washington will play for the Northwest Region title after claiming a comeback win over Oregon.

Oregon got off to a hot start Wednesday after loading the bases on two walks and a single before sending two runners home in the first inning.

Washington turned things around in the bottom of the second following a lead-off single from Evan Yarbrough.

Bradley Williams hit a two-RBI single later in the frame to tie the game at two runs apiece.

Washington pulled ahead in the fourth inning thanks to an RBI groundout from Anthony Romero and an RBI triple from Winston Weaver.

Yarbrough capped off the inning by jumping over a potential tag onto home plate.

Things fell apart for Oregon in the fourth inning as Washington sent four more runs home.

Washington will now advance to take on Idaho in Thursday’s Northwest Region title game. The winner will head to Williamsport to play for the Little League World Series title.

Iowa came back to defeat Missouri and advance to the Midwest Region championship game after a lengthy weather delay.

Missouri was leading by 5-3 when storms delayed the game in the bottom of the fifth inning.

When play finally resumed, Missouri added one run before closing out the inning.

Iowa took over during the next frame after starting out the sixth inning with a lead-off double from Anthony Johnson Jr. that sparked an eight-run flurry.

Cooper Thissen pitched a clean inning to close out the win. Iowa will advance to play either Wisconsin or Missouri in the Midwest Regional title game.

Connecticut 8, New York 4

Connecticut took over with a big third inning to advance to the Metro Region title game.

Six hits and a forced error helped Connecticut climb out to a 6-1 lead in the middle frame.

New York got three runs back over the final two innings, but Connecticut sent two runners home in the top of the sixth to close out the win.

Connecticut will now advance to play New Jersey for the Metro Region championship this Friday.

Ohio continued its dominance and won the Great Lakes Regional with a commanding 6-0 victory over Kentucky.

It was the second time Ohio defeated Kentucky in the regional, and it was enough to clinch a spot in the Little League World Series on Wednesday.

Pitching was the story for the victors, as Boone Treadway threw a complete-game one-hitter. He didn’t allow a single run or walk and struck out nine in a memorable performance.

Offensively, Josiah Infante hit a two-run homer during part of a six-run first inning for Ohio. It didn’t score again the rest of the game, but it didn’t have to with Treadway pitching so well on the mound.
