LAFAYETTE, La. (KADN) – Billionaire Elon Musk’s private jet was spotted at the Lafayette Regional Airport on Monday, sparking speculation about a potential aerospace development in south Louisiana.
According to Bluesky, the jet traveled from Austin, Texas, and landed in Lafayette about an hour later.

The surprise visit comes as plans begin to emerge for a potential SpaceX project in the region. Governor Jeff Landry’s administration is reportedly finalizing a deal with the aerospace company to build a spaceport along the coast in Vermilion Parish.
Neither SpaceX nor the governor’s office has commented on the visit or the potential deal. An official announcement regarding the project is expected to be released later this month.
