ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) – A community storytelling and performance event aimed at sparking conversations around mental health, substance use recovery, trauma, resilience, and healing is coming to Roanoke next month.
“When Truth Takes the Stage” is scheduled for Sept. 26, 2026, from 6 to 9 p.m. at 3025 Frontier Road.
About the event
The event is presented by The Blinded Truth Podcast, a recovery-centered platform focused on breaking the stigma surrounding mental health and substance use through storytelling. The podcast is hosted by Certified Peer Recovery Specialists Destinnee Vance and Eric Foster.
Through spoken word, music, dance, poetry, and personal testimonies, the event is designed to create a space where individuals can share their lived experiences and promote hope around healing.
