Ahead of the 2026/27 season, we have seen some new faces arrive while other members of our title-winning squad have left for pastures new.

That has led to some rejigging of our squad numbers, with some left vacant while others have stepped in to add to each shirt’s history.

Bruno Guimaraes’ arrival has seen him take the number 39 jersey, which he has worn throughout his career in tribute to his father, whose taxi donned the same digits when he worked in Brazil helping pave the way for his son’s future.

Christos Tzolis has opted for number 17, previously owned by Oleksandr Zinchenko and made famous by Alexis Sanchez and Emmanuel Petit.

Illan Meslier has picked number 30, last worn by Raheem Sterling in 2024/25, and previously by Eddie Nketiah and Yossi Benayoun.

Should there be any new recruits before the end of the transfer window, there are some good numbers to select from.

Jakub Kiwior, Christian Norgaard and Leandro Trossard’s exits have left 15, 16 and 19 up for grabs, while 18 is also vacant. Meanwhile, if a player has an affiliation for something in the twenties, 25, 26, 27 and 28 have all been available for the last couple of seasons.
