After Lala’s flooding, another storm or hurricane could hit Hawaii this weekend

Another tropical storm or hurricane could affect Hawaii this weekend, just one week after Lala brought several feet of destructive rain and flooding to the Big Island.

Early Wednesday, the National Hurricane Center gave this tropical disturbance of interest — which was about 1,300 miles southeast of the Big Island — an 80 percent chance of developing into a tropical storm over the next seven days.
