A man who was reported missing in July was found dead near the East Busway last week, according to Pittsburgh officials.In multiple posts from the department, officials said Pastor Rodriguez-Rivera Jr., 77, was found dead after officials issued a search for him on July 21. Officials previously said he was last seen in the 1000 block of Herron Avenue near Melwood Avenue in Polish Hill just before 9 a.m. on the 21st. Police issued a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Wednesday saying the man was found dead. Officials said the Allegheny Mountain Rescue Group played a part in the search for Rodriguez-Rivera Jr. Action News 4 reached out to additional city officials for more information and learned that the victim was found in the area of the East Busway on August 8.Officials say the cause of death does not appear to be suspicious, but additional information will be released by the medical examiner’s office.
