The Kansas City Chiefs tight end, 35, poured his heart out to his pop superstar girlfriend, 35, when she made her podcast debut on New Heights, which dropped on Wednesday, Aug. 13 at 7:00 p.m. E.T.
“I give The Eras Tour credit,” Travis told Swift in the episode. “Because if I had never gone to that show and just been mesmerized and just been captivated — and then left with such a desire to want to meet you, I would’ve never gone on [New Heights] and told everybody how butthurt I was.”
Travis — who cohosted the episode with his 37-year-old brother, Jason Kelce — was referencing when he attended The Eras Tour in July 2023 at Arrowhead Stadium. At the time, he had previously joked that he “threw the ball in her court” after seeing Swift perform.

“I had never been so engulfed in the curiosity of who you were,” Travis told Swift on the podcast — to which she looked at him, smitten, saying, “Aw, that’s really wonderful.”
The star tight end added, “I’m telling you. She makes me so much better.”
“Thank you for saying that, thank you for saying that,” replied Swift, who showed PDA to her boyfriend throughout the episode, leaning into him and holding his hand throughout.
“But then… We see you on the stage and we see how crazy you can get an entire stadium going and then I get you in a room and it’s like I’ve known you forever,” Travis told Swift, recalling, “It was just the easiest conversation I ever had. It was so much fun that it just knocked my socks off.”

Travis and Jason announced that Swift would appear on New Heights on Tuesday, Aug. 12. The Chiefs star sent fans into a frenzy when he called his girlfriend “sweetie” in the teaser clip.
The preview video for the episode showed Swift revealing her new album title as Travis and Jason excitedly reacted to the news.
“TS 12!” Travis cheered after her big announcement.
While the power couple has kept a low-key profile this NFL offseason, they’ve slowly been stepping back into the spotlight as the 2025-26 season draws near — marking two years since they first sparked romance rumors in September 2023.
In June, Swift and Travis made their red-carpet debut when they walked hand-in-hand into the opening night ceremony for Tight End University in Nashville. The athlete founded the annual three-day summer training camp in 2021 with fellow NFL stars George Kittle and sportscaster Greg Olsen.

The following month, the pair made their relationship Instagram official when Travis posted a roundup of personal photos with Swift on his social media account on July 24 — marking the first time he did so since they started dating,
In August, Travis — on the same day Swift announced her forthcoming album — was revealed as the GQ cover star for the magazine’s September issue, where he opened up about his relationship with Swift and pinpointed how he “fell in love” with her.
Elsewhere in the GQ feature, Travis shared his mindset heading into his 13th NFL season with the Kansas City Chiefs — and candidly discussed what his future might look like beyond the sidelines once retired, including what he’ll “stay away from” when the cleats are hung up.
Travis sparked speculation around his retirement plans following the Chiefs loss against the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2025 Super Bowl in February, which simultaneously prevented the team from clinching the first-ever “three-peat” in NFL Championship history.

Meanwhile, Chiefs coach Andy Reid revealed to The Athletic in April that Travis informed him of his decision not to retire “less than a week” after the devastating Super Bowl defeat. He also confirmed that the tight end has been “training like crazy” for what could be his final season playing football.
Travis has since played coy when asked about specific retirement plans; and made it clear that he’s focused on the season ahead. As for his lingering feelings on the Super Bowl loss — well, he’s learned to shake it off.
“I’ve thrown that thing in the trash,” the pro athlete told ESPN on Aug. 6 in regards to the Eagles winning Super Bowl LIX in February. “I’ve moved on. It happened sooner than you can imagine. I was pretty focused on this year in the offseason.”
Travis explained that with sports come good days and bad days, and his situation is no different.
“You’ve got to go through the dog days and enjoy it for what it is, man,” he said. “We’re rocking and rolling, man. It’s training camp, so you’re going to feel the soreness and the heavy workload you’re getting every day. You’ve got to enjoy it for what it is and fight through that.”
