Teen girl in critical condition after being shot near JCPS bus stop
LOUISVILLE, Ky. —

A teen girl was critically injured in a shooting near a bus stop.She is a JCPS student.It happened on Beech Street near Algonquin Park.No arrests yet.
A teenage girl is in critical condition after a shooting near a Jefferson County Public Schools stop.
The shooting happened around 8 a.m. Tuesday on Beech Street near Wyandotte Avenue, that’s in Park DuValle just south of Algonquin Park.
Chief Paul Humphrey said they’re pursuing suspect leads. So far, no arrests and the Homicide Unit is investigating due to the severity of the injuries.
“We are asking the community for your help in this. We want to make sure that we bring justice to to this family, as well as make sure that we get dangerous people off the street,” Humphrey said.
The girl is a student at JCPS, but officially are not yet releasing which school she attends.
It’s also unclear whether it was random or targeted.
LMPD is working closely with JCPS Police.
Mayor Craig Greenberg said the Office of Violence Prevention will be utilized at the bus stop, and they will also enhance security there for days.
