Renovation of Public Restroom at Route 1 Bus Terminal, Guangzhou – Located in Dongshankou, a historic district of Guangzhou, the renovation reinterprets an ordinary public restroom as an open urban interface. The design responds to the neighborhood’s Lingnan architectural character, red-brick heritage, and everyday street life, while addressing the original building’s poor accessibility, limited capacity, insufficient storage, and fragmented surrounding public space. The existing two-story brick-concrete structure was retained and reorganized rather than replaced.
