2 in custody, vehicle located hours after deadly hit-and-run in Fayette County
Two people have been detained, and a vehicle involved in a fatal hit-and-run crash in Fayette County has now been located, the district attorney said Wednesday.
Fayette County Coroner Bob Baker first said in a release that officials were called to Uniontown Hospital after a hit-and-run crash along Stone Church Road sent one person to the hospital.
The coroner said 62-year-old Ronald Hostetler, of Confluence, Pennsylvania, died as a result of the incident.
District Attorney Mike Aubele told Pittsburgh’s Action News 4 reporter Jordan Cioppa that officials searched for hours, looking for the vehicle and driver involved in the incident.
Aubele said the vehicle has since been located and that two people are in custody in connection with the incident.
“Ultimately, I was notified that Pennsylvania State Police stopped a vehicle matching the description and that we believe, based on information we have now of observing the vehicle, that it is the vehicle that was involved in the collision,” Aubele said.
No additional details on the incident have been released.
This is a developing story.
