HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – A near-total lunar eclipse will mask 96% of the moon Thursday night.
Stargazers in Hawaii will not see the eclipse until the very end, meaning the shadow will already begin to move away from the moon.
Experts say the best way to watch the eclipse is to get away from light pollution.
A lunar eclipse happens when the Earth moves between the Sun and the Moon, which casts a shadow on the Moon’s surface.
