J. Cole’s Golden 1 Center concert canceled after crew member dies in I-5 crash
SACRAMENTO, Calif. —
J. Cole’s Sacramento concert has been canceled hours before the hip-hop star was supposed to perform due to the death of a touring crew member in a crash, according to the Golden 1 Center.
“Following the tragic passing of a member of the touring crew in a trucking accident this morning, J. Cole’s show scheduled tonight, Aug. 27, at Golden 1 Center has been canceled,” the downtown Sacramento venue said in a statement. “Our thoughts are with the crew member’s family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.”
A crash involving the big rig carrying J. Cole’s concert equipment happened Thursday morning in Yolo County. The big rig overturned along Interstate 5 between the Zamora and Dufour areas and northwest of Woodland, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The hip-hop artist has shows scheduled in Oakland on Saturday and Sunday. It’s unconfirmed if those concerts will be impacted.
Guests who purchased tickets through Ticketmaster will be refunded automatically, the Golden 1 Center said. For those who have purchased through a third-party seller may seek refunds at their original point of purchase.
