The San Jose Sharks promoted two San Jose Barracuda staff members and added four new members to their hockey operations department, including an emergency backup goalie.
Former Barracuda Video Coach and Manager of Hockey Operations Eric Pinsky is now the Sharks’ assistant video coach. Josh Woodard is now the Sharks’ equipment manager, after holding that role with the ’Cuda last season.
The Sharks hired two amateur scouts: Cameron Burt and Tyler Holske. Burt previously was a player development coach and mentor with Total Package Hockey Academy, which is “an academy-style, focused environment where dedicated student-athletes Study, Train and Play to their greatest potential.” Holske has worked in amateur and collegiate hockey for nearly 10 years, and is the current general manager/head coach of the South Shore Kings in the USPHL.
Scott Greenberg is the team’s new head physical therapist, working under Director of High Performance Mike Potenza. Greenberg has over 25 years of experience in the industry, and has worked with professional, Olympics, and collegiate athletes.
New EBUG Nathan Airey spent the last three seasons with the University of Minnesota, appearing in 35 total games. He held an .893 save percentage and 2.86 GAA while going 16-11-3 in his career.
Starting in the 2026-27 season, NHL teams are required to employ a full-time traveling emergency back-up goalie.
