A Fayetteville man was arrested after police say they were involved with three shootings and a carjacking Sunday morning in Fayetteville. The Fayetteville Police Department and Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office are investigating these incidents.
At 7:03 a.m., Cumberland County deputies responded to a shooting in the 700 block of Messenger Street. They found a woman who was shot. She was taken to the hospital.
At 7:12 a.m., police were called to the Hardee’s fast food restaurant on Ramsey Street regarding a carjacking and a shooting.
When they arrived, they found a woman who had been shot. Later officers were called to the Food Lion parking lot on McArthur Road for another attempted carjacking and shooting.
At Food Lion, officers found a woman who had been shot.
Both women were taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
Fayetteville police said prior to the carjackings, the suspect was involved in a shooting that was outside of city limits.
Officers and detectives are investigating the crime scenes and the areas surrounding McArthur Road and Ramsey Street will be closed. Drivers are asked to avoid the area.
