Could Ethan Nwaneri move have wider implications?
It is perhaps interesting that Arsenal have approved Ethan Nwaneri’s loan. It is understood that Borussia Dortmund has been an option for a while, with Arsenal weighing it up – could it hint at something bigger happening at the club today?

Tammy Abraham to stay at Aston Villa after rejecting Ipswich move
Aston Villa boss Unai Emery has told Tammy Abraham he has to get better after revealing the striker turned down the chance to leave.
Abraham rejoined Villa in an £18m January move, but he failed to impress Emery and spent large parts of last season on the bench.
The 28-year-old looked set to join the Villa Park exodus this summer, with the club allowing a loan move to Ipswich, but Abraham wants to stay.
“Tammy is coming back to the Premier League,” Emery said. “I spoke with him. He needs time but he needs to do it as soon as possible to adapt to the Premier League.
“He didn’t perform like we wanted last year. We opened the door for him but he’s decided to stay here with us. I am going to be very demanding with him to add his qualities with us.”

Tottenham given fitness boost ahead of deadline day
Roberto De Zerbi may yet add one more attacking option to his squad, but the Tottenham boss was given a fitness boost yesterday with Dejan Kulusevski finally back in training. The Swedish winger has endured a wretched spell of 477 days out of full team sessions after a slow recovery from a niggling knee problem. Will he be like a new signing, as the cliche goes?

Tottenham’s switch of centre-halves
One in, one out in the central defence department for Tottenham – Kevin Danso should leave on loan to Sunderland at some point today, with Tosin Adarabioyo reportedly incoming from Chelsea as his replacement. Spurs have totally retooled in that area in this window, letting Cristian Romero and Luka Vuskovic go with Jan Paul van Hecke and Marcos Senesi already brought in.

Ethan Nwaneri set to leave Arsenal on loan
One possible outgoing from Arsenal: Ethan Nwaneri appears poised for a loan move to Borussia Dortmund having travelled to Germany for a medical. Mikel Arteta admitted earlier in the summer that he may have to let the youngster leave for more regular football, and Dortmund may be a good fit.

Liverpool’s transfer business likely finished
It looks set to be a quiet day for Liverpool, with no incomings or outgoings expected at Anfield. The decision was made yesterday that Cody Gakpo would not be allowed to leave, with time too tight to bring in a suitable replacement.
Bradley Barcola’s signature was confirmed yesterday – a handy addition!

Richarlison opens up on ‘turmoi’ amid Tottenham exit talk
Richarlison has opened the door for an emotional return to Everton but warned “never again will anyone decide my future for me” in a thinly-veiled dig on social media.
“After everything I’ve been through in the last few years, I’ve decided that never again will anyone decide my future for me,” Richarlison said on Instagram.
“I went through a lot of bad things, and almost all of them happened because decisions were made by other people. Pressure, threats, retaliation – none of that scares me. I’ve been through far worse, believe me.
“I’ve always made it clear, every time I had the chance, that leaving for another club would only happen if it was also good for the club. If it wasn’t, I would never accept it. Just like I didn’t accept it when everything was going badly and they needed me.
“I stayed and gave everything. So, I hope they treat my situation with the same respect I’ve always shown Spurs and everyone who worked with me during this period. Just don’t try to decide for me.
“If they reach an agreement between Spurs and Everton, I will return to my beloved club. My intention was to go back to the place where I was very happy, yes, but the negotiations happened only in the way certain people wanted, and it will no longer be like that.
“Despite all this turmoil, I am under contract at Spurs and will remain at the club’s disposal.”
