Conrad Indianapolis Begins $25 Million Property Renovation

Conrad Indianapolis, Indianapolis’ premier luxury hotel, today announced a $25 million renovation that will reimagine the property in celebration of its 20th anniversary. Expected to be complete by year-end, the renovation will transform all guestrooms, suites, and common areas throughout the luxury property. The hotel will remain open during the transformation. Building on its original $100 million development investment, this renovation will further solidify Conrad Indianapolis as a preferred destination for refined travelers, pairing purposeful service with global craftsmanship, contemporary culture, and genuine Hoosier hospitality.

“As we celebrate 20 years in Indianapolis, we’re proud to usher in a new chapter for Conrad Indianapolis that places our guests at the center of every detail,” said Ryan Fitzgerald, general manager, Conrad Indianapolis. “This transformation honors the hotel’s legacy while introducing a fresh, contemporary design that will elevate the guest journey, creating meaningful and memorable experiences that reflect the energy and culture of downtown Indianapolis.”

Spearheaded by interior architecture and design firm Anderson/Miller, the aesthetic concept centers around “The Crossroads of Quiet Luxury,” embracing subtle sophistication and timeless quality. The design moves the property from traditional grandeur toward a warm, restrained palette of camel, cream, espresso, and charcoal.
The renovation preserves the hotel’s classic architectural moldings while introducing tailored contemporary furniture silhouettes and rich natural materials, including walnut, burled wood, saddle leather, aged brass, travertine, and veined marble. Sculptural decorative lighting crafted from blown glass, porcelain, and patinated bronze will illuminate the spaces, complemented by impactful commissioned modern artworks juxtaposed against traditional architectural detailing.

The hotel’s evolution will extend beyond its physical transformation, with newly appointed Executive Chef Kenneth Rivera shaping the next chapter of Conrad Indianapolis’ culinary identity. Rivera will bring a refreshed perspective to the property’s banquet, wedding and dining experiences, with additional culinary developments to be unveiled in the months ahead.

Beyond the guestroom and public space enhancements, visitors can still indulge in the only on-site hotel spa in downtown, Conrad Spa Indianapolis, which has recently been recognized as one of the Top 100 Spas by Spas of America. This wellness sanctuary offers an indoor pool, steam and sauna facilities, a 24-hour fitness center, and advanced recovery therapies including Sound Immersion and Normatec compression. For meeting and event organizers, the hotel provides over 16,000 square feet of flexible function space, featuring the more than 4,800-square-foot Vienna Ballroom and a direct skybridge connection to the iconic seven-story glass-domed Indianapolis Artsgarden.
