CHICAGO — Former Iowa Hawkeye Kate Martin has signed a developmental contract with the Chicago Sky, the WNBA team announced Wednesday.
Martin, a 6-foot guard, most recently played for the Los Angeles Sparks. She appeared in 17 games with Los Angeles this season after beginning the year on a developmental deal that was later converted to a standard contract.
The Sky said Martin will wear No. 20 and could be available when Chicago returns from the FIBA break Sept. 17 against the Washington Mystics, if activated.
Martin was selected by the Las Vegas Aces with the 18th overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft after a five-year career with the Hawkeyes. She later joined the Golden State Valkyries through the 2025 expansion draft before being waived ahead of the 2026 season.
At Iowa, Martin helped lead the Hawkeyes to consecutive appearances in the national championship game.
The Sky are Martin’s third WNBA team this season.
