‘The Odyssey’ adds more IMAX 70mm showings through end of September

Jeremiah MartinezSACRAMENTO, Calif. —

For those who have not yet watched “The Odyssey” in IMAX 70mm still have a chance to do so before the end of the month.

The Christopher Nolan adaptation of the famous Greek poem will extend its run again with additional showtimes for IMAX 70mm through the end of the September, including in Sacramento.

Esquire IMAX has showtimes scheduled through Sept. 30 with at least two to three showings a day, according to its website.

Since the film has premiered on July 17, showings have been extended through mid-September due to high demand and advanced sellouts.

These extended showings are only for IMAX 70mm. Many standard digital theaters are unable to show the film in 70mm.

There are only 26 theaters in the U.S. that can showcase “The Odyssey” in IMAX 70mm. California houses eight of them, and Esquire IMAX is the only theater in Sacramento that can showcase “The Odyssey” in that form.
