PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — The Rocky statue at the Philadelphia Museum of Art is one of the city’s most iconic attractions – and soon, travelers arriving in Philadelphia will be greeted by another.

A new 10-foot-tall statue of Rocky Balboa, created by artist A. Thomas Schomberg, will be installed at PHL.
It’s one of three original castings of the statue. The others are located at the Art Museum and in the private collection of actor Sylvester Stallone, according to Schomberg.
The Philadelphia Art Commission released renderings of the new statue on Thursday.

According to materials submitted to the Commission, the statue may live in Terminal A-West.
Creative Philadelphia’s public art director, Marguerite Anglin, called the statue “a fantastic way to celebrate our city’s rich culture,” noting that it will be accessible to millions of travelers who may not have time to visit the original statue at the Art Museum.
The installation is expected to coincide with the United States’ semiquincentennial celebrations in 2026.
