Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks staff are monitoring the situation after reports of mountain lion activity in Helena’s South Hills.
An announcement from the department said the activity was near homes.
Mountain lion sightings in and around Helena are not uncommon. In 2019, authorities killed and removed a mountain lion that was found outside a NorthWestern Energy building near downtown.
Bear activity has also been high in many places, including urban areas, the department said.
