Amazon Braket has launched a new feature called “program sets” to improve quantum workload efficiency. The feature allows customers to bundle up to 100 quantum circuits into a single quantum task, which reduces processing overhead and the time between circuit executions. This new capability is intended to accelerate the execution of quantum circuit executions, with a reported speedup of up to 24x on supported devices.

Program sets are designed to address delays between individual circuit submissions that can add to experimental run times and increase sensitivity to device drift. The feature is particularly relevant for algorithms that require running the same parametrized circuit with different measurement bases or parameter values, such as variational quantum eigensolvers (VQE) and quantum machine learning models. For on-demand workloads, program sets reduce costs by charging a single per-task fee for the entire bundle, instead of a separate fee for each circuit.

Amazon Braket program sets are currently available on all superconducting QPUs from Rigetti (in the US West Region) and IQM (in the Europe Region). This feature is positioned as valuable for applications such as molecular simulation and quantum machine learning. The reduction in execution time and processing overhead aims to facilitate algorithm development and lead to more consistent results, supporting quantum computing research.
