One last race before the Craftsman Truck Series Playoffs begin, and it will be decided at Richmond Raceway. Here is everything you need to know before the eero 250 on Friday night.
NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series eero 250 at Richmond Raceway
Last time the Truck Series raced at Richmond, it was a Saturday night short-track battle that saw Ty Majeski take his second win of his championship season. Can Ty Majeski and the #98 Thorsport team strike again and get their first win of a title defense year? Or will Corey Heim get his first win at Richmond and extend his massive playoff points lead?

Race Preview:
The eero 250 at Richmond Raceway is a 250-lap, 187.5-mile race around the 3/4 mile short track. Stage cautions will be on laps 70 and 140, and then a 110-lap run to the checkered on lap 250. This is the final race before the start of the 2025 Craftsman Truck Series playoffs. The prize purse for this race is a total of $782,900. Goodyear is bringing the tires most recently used at Indy Raceway Park. Teams will have 6 sets of tires, 4 for the race, 1 for qualifying that is transferred to the race, and 1 for practice.
In case of weather, teams can use the wet-weather tires at Richmond. Teams will have three sets.
The Track-Richmond Raceway:
The Richmond Raceway, located in Richmond, Virginia, first hosted a NASCAR race when it was a half-mile dirt oval in 1953. Paved in 1968 and then lengthened in 1988 into a D-Shaped 1988, it truly became its nickname, ‘The Action Track’. The Craftsman Truck Series has raced at Richmond 16 times in the past.
Terry Labonte won the first Truck Series race on September 7th, 1996, driving a Chevrolet. Mike Skinner, Jack Sprague, and Tony Stewart are tied for the most win at Richmond in the Truck Series. There is a tie for the most wins amongst active drivers, with Chandler Smith, Ty Majeski, and Grant Enfinger all having one win.

Who Will Win:
I think we have four contenders for this race win. Corey Heim. He dominates every race and has a massive playoff points lead. While he has never won at Richmond, that did not stop him at Watkins Glen last Friday. Look out for the clock to strike Heim-Time again.
Layne Riggs has come alive these last five races. Two wins, two top-tens, and his worst finish is 13th. Riggs finished in the top-five at this race last year. I think Riggs has the potential to win his third race of the season on Friday night.
Ty Majeski is the defending winner of this race, but he has had a post-championship slump and has seemingly come back to life at the end of the regular season. I don’t think he is back to his championship-caliber self yet, but I would not count him out of being a contender.
While Christian Eckes has graduated to the Xfinity Series, he was lights out fast here last year in the MHR truck. Well, he is back in an MHR Chevy for this race, and I think he could be an upset winner for this race. Look out for the #16 Chevy in tomorrow’s race.
