BERLIN — The quarterfinals of the women’s FIBA World Cup are set and the U.S. is still the team to beat despite facing its stiffest challenge in group play in 50 years.
The Americans have won 33 consecutive games in the tournament and are three victories away from their fifth consecutive World Cup title. They’ll face Hungary on Thursday in one of four quarterfinal matchups. France will play China; Belgium faces host Germany and Spain takes on Australia in the other games that day.
