A rules official is called in. Celine Boutier’s line of sight is being impeded by a bridge that has been built to ferry people across the water, so she is entitled to a free drop on the fairway side of the water.
But she still has to drop in the penalty area. However, as she drops the ball, it heads to the water, which means she gets to place the ball. A big break.
Boutier now has a flatter stance and a ball that’s much easier to hit. All about knowing the rules.
