Sophie Cunningham knows exactly what she wants in a man or at least which country music legend comes closest. During a recent appearance on the Like a Farmer Podcast, the Indiana Fever guard named Alan Jackson as her “dream guy” before quickly acknowledging one obvious problem.
“If he was younger and not married,” Cunningham joked. Jackson is 67 and has been married to Denise Jackson for more than four decades, making it clear that Cunningham was having fun rather than revealing a genuine romantic pursuit.

The answer still reflected what Cunningham has previously said about dating. The 6-foot-1 WNBA star wants someone tall, confident and comfortable taking the lead. She has also admitted that she could never date a man shorter than her. Those are normal preferences, but her growing fame means that even a playful comment about an imaginary partner can quickly become a national headline.
Angel Reese took a different path but found the same problem
Angel Reese is not publicly searching for her ideal man. The Atlanta Dream star is dating Orlando Magic center Wendell Carter Jr., who acknowledged their relationship in 2025 by calling Reese “my girl” and saying they were “locked in.” Reese playfully responded by writing, “Period homie.”
Their relationship gradually became more visible. Carter attended Reese’s birthday celebration and wore a shirt featuring her image at a WNBA All-Star event, while Reese supported him at Magic games and shared glimpses of their relationship on social media. That attention became uncomfortable when Reese reposted a video of Carter dunking over Detroit Pistons center Jalen Duren. Social media users described Duren as her former boyfriend, although Reese has denied that they ever dated.
