Aryna Sabalenka lost in three sets 4-6, 7-5, 2-6 to Elena Rybakina in the US Open final. The former world No. 1 suffered defeat at the hands of the star who usurped her position.
The Belarusian tennis star had many people cheering for her, and there were quite a few celebrities in attendance as well. It was the ones in her own box, though, that caused fans online to react negatively.

A player’s box is generally reserved for people chosen and invited by the star themselves. Celebrities that are close to the biggest tennis stars have been seen in their respective boxes before.
For Sabalenka, this included some controversial names. Paris Hilton has long dealt with issues regarding things she has said and done. Jake Paul is someone many people don’t like either.
So it was not surprising that their presence in the 28-year-old’s box led to some serious mockery on X.
“Yeah that trends… They **** and based on her attitude after the match, so does she,” one fan wrote. “I’m glad that she lost. You can’t buy class, AS,” another added.
“Perfect combo to get out of a clown car together,” a third fan commented. “Aryna we looking at you sideways…. The **** kinda company is this??? Ugh,” a fourth said.

“You can tell a lot about a person with the friends they keep,” a different reply to the video read. “Well, she gets more unlikeable by the day,” a sixth fan claimed.
Fans clearly have strong feelings about both Paul and Hilton, and for many, it is evidently affecting how they view Sabalenka. Having just lost in the final though, she likely has bigger things to worry about.
