NEWTON, Kan. (KWCH)— The state of Kansas is awarding $16 million in grant funding to rural health care providers embracing new technologies to improve patient care.
Gov. Laura Kelly visited Prairie View in Newton on Monday to announce the grant recipients from across the state. The funding is being distributed through the Kansas Rural Health Transformation Program’s Emerging Technology Grant initiative.
Kelly highlighted Prairie View as an example of how rural facilities can adopt modern solutions to expand medical services.
“Today, Prairie View is not only receiving an emerging technology grant, but also demonstrating what it looks like when a rural provider embraces innovation to better serve those people that depend on it,” Kelly said.
The selected projects are designed to assist rural hospitals and clinics in implementing proven medical technologies, expanding access to more patients, and establishing systems that remain sustainable after the grant period concludes.
Kelly said successful technology integration in rural clinics and hospitals benefits local residents while strengthening the broader health care network across Kansas.
