Marta Kostyuk has learned the identity of her opponent in the second round of the WTA 500 tournament in Guadalajara. The prize pool for the competition in Mexico is $1,206,446.

The Ukrainian, who is ranked 11th in the world and is the top seed, will face American Taylor Townsend. Her opponent is ranked 96th.
In the tournament’s opening match, Townsend defeated Germany’s Tatjana Maria. The match ended 6–7 (0–7), 6–3, 6–2.
Kostyuk and Townsend to meet for the third time
Marta Kostyuk’s match against Taylor Townsend is scheduled for September 16. It will be the third meeting between the two players.
The Ukrainian tennis player won their two previous encounters. Kostyuk will therefore have an opportunity to extend her positive head-to-head record.
The tournament in Guadalajara will run until September 19.
