Serena 3rd, Newark 4th, Somonauk 5th, Earlville 7th at LTC meet: At Indian Oaks Country Club in Shabbona, the Huskers (342) finished third behind champion IMSA (335) and runner-up Hinckley-Big Rock (341) at Monday’s Little Ten Conference Tournament.

Newark (343) placed fourth, Somonauk/Leland (356) fifth and Earlville (386) seventh. IMSA’s Cyrus Dumser was the individual champion with a 2-over 74.

The Huskers were led by Jaysin Johnsen (81, tied for third individually), Hendrix Johnson (84, T-9th), Carter Meyer (84, T9th) and Tyler Brown (93, T21st).

The Norsemen were led by David Ulrich (81, T-3rd), Jimmy Kath (83, T-7th), Mitchell Hatteberg (89, T16th) and Jonathan Nicosia (90, 20th).

Isaac Risch finished sixth with an 82 to lead the Bobcats, followed by Elijah Werner (86, T-14), Tyler Brown (93, T-21st) and Alex Barnes (95, T-26th).

Earlville was led by Aaden Browder (85, T-12), Bryce Marks (89, T-16th), Mason Sampson (103, 35th) and Owen Lilly (109, 39th).

Girls golf

Seneca 180, St. Bede 244, Henry 253: At Spring Creek Golf Course, the Fighting Irish shot a season-low team score to pick up two more victories and move their record to 14-1.

Seneca was led by medalist Josie Mitchell’s 43, followed by Alivia Mann (45), Piper Stenzel (46) and Haiden Lavarier (46).

Dwight ties for 2nd, Fieldcrest ties for 8th, Marquette places 11th at Pontiac: At the Oaks at River’s Edge, the Trojans’ Brooklin Trainor, Emmalynn Anderson, Shelby Delong and Sienna Burke shot a 4-under 68 to finish tied for second at the Lady Indians Scramble.

Fieldcrest’s Lena Greskoviak, Madaline Theesfield, Olivia Bernardi and Zoe McFall carded a 71 to tie for eighth.

Marquette’s Lillian Pollnow, Madisyn Trainor, Senya Mitre and Stella Moline shot a 76 for Marquette to place 11th.

Ottawa d. Illinois Valley Central 25-18, 25-19: At Kingman Gym, the Pirates (10-7-1) swept past the Grey Ghosts.

Ottawa was led by Bella Knoll (eight kills), Savannah Markey (four kills, two aces, three digs), Libby Muffler (three blocks), Bailey Etscheid (six digs), Meredith Waldron (four digs), Hailey Thrush (five assists, four digs), Wren Harris (seven assists), Lila Platt (two aces).

Marquette d. Indian Creek 25-20, 25-12: At Shabbona, the Crusaders defeated the Timberwolves to improve to 10-3 on the season.

Marquette was led by Kinley Rick (12 assists, six kills, seven digs), Rita McLaughlin (seven kills, seven assists, eight digs), Kelsey Cuchra (seven kills), Kaitlyn Davis (four kills, four digs), Hunter Hopkins (18 digs, four assists) and Carissa Blood (six digs).

Emma Mino

Seneca d. Morris 25-16, 25-17: At Morris, the Fighting Irish (10-2) topped the Warriors led by Emma Mino (six aces, 13 service points), Graysen Provance (14 assists, three aces) and Brooklyn Sheedy (seven kills).

Newark d. Coal City 25-18, 25-12: At Newark, the Norsemen improved to 13-4 on the season with the straight set win.

Newark was led by Rylie Carlson (11 kills, six digs), Cayla Pottinger (13 digs), Taylor Jeffers (12 assists, two aces), Ella Bromeland (seven assists) and Zoey Carlson (six kills, two blocks).

Woodstock d. Sandwich 22-25, 25-15, 28-26: At Woodstock, the Indians (6-5, 1-3) dropped a Kishwaukee River Conference three-set decision to the Blue Streaks.

Sandwich was led by Jessi Ramey (12 digs, nine assists, two kills), Alayla Harris (10 kills, three blocks), Khloe White (seven aces, eight assists, four digs) and Ali Martin (four kills).

Fieldcrest d. Dwight 25-23, 25-22: At Minonk, the Knights improved to 4-3 on the season with the home win over the Trojans.

Fieldcrest was led by Jersey Modro (four kills, three blocks) and Clare Forrest (eight assists).

Boys soccer

Serena 6, Sandwich 1: At Sandwich, the Huskers improved to 5-2 on the season with the victory over the Indians.

Easton Bucz scored a pair of goals for Serena, with Hudson DeBernardi, Joey Tuftie, Justin Delgado and Harry Rosengren each scoring a single goal. Delgado, Damien Gonzalez and Ethan Stark all had assists.

Washington 3, Streator 0: At Washington, the Bulldogs (5-4-2) were shut out by the host Panthers.

IMSA 9, Earlville 1: At Earlville, the Red Raiders (0-9, -2) dropped the Little Ten Conference match to the Titans.

Darik Farley scored the lone goal for Earlville, while keeper Rob Tinson was credited with 10 saves.

Mendota 4, Somonauk-Leland-Newark 2: At Somonauk, the Bobcats (3-1-2) fell short against the Trojans.
