A team of around 40 advisors from Ameriprise Financial Services’ independent channel broke away to launch an RIA that uses Dynasty Financial Partners for back-office support, according to registration records.
Bedford, New Hampshire-based Rise Private Wealth Management had managed $4.3 billion in assets as of March 2025, according to a Forbes ranking. The 102-person RIA is led by Brent A. Kiley and Robert A. Bonfiglio, who partnered in 2010 and had spent all of their respective 26 and 36-year careers at Ameriprise.
A spokesperson for the team confirmed the departure but declined further comment. A Barron’s ranking listed the team’s assets at $8.1 billion including those under advisement.
Rise, which launched September 10, marks at least the third billion-dollar-plus practice to leave Ameriprise this year to launch an independent firm.
Ameriprise, which no longer breaks out its exact advisor headcount, has around 10,000 employee and independent brokers. A spokesperson said in a statement that the firm has “strong retention among highly productive advisors” and “a robust pipeline of high-caliber advisors.” A source who claimed familiarity with the move said that same of the team stayed behind.
Rise is owned by Kiley and Bonfiglio as well as a group of individual team members and family trusts, according to the firm’s Form ADV filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission on September 10.
The RIA custodies with Schwab Advisor Services. Dynasty, which also provides an investment management platform, client referrals and helped negotiate transition assistance from Schwab, did not take a stake in the RIA.
