Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen (Switch 2 – 9th October 2026)

Similar to how I feel about Monster Hunter, Dragon’s Dogma is fantastic for a handheld system. I played Dragon’s Dogma Dark Arisen recently, completely on the go, and loved every moment.
The sequel will contain both Dragon’s Dogma 2 base game and the upcoming Dark Arisen expansion.
There were three bosses available, and I managed to try them all in my hands-on session. The first was for beginners, fighting a Griffin, which was a much-needed warm-up for what was ahead.
The next two missions were set in the new snow-covered region of Norgan. I got to set off with my Pawns and explore a small area of the icy, desolate land, taking on minor enemies before encountering the Fallen Dragon.
The sheer scale, design, and setting for this boss were incredibly eerie, with a haunting dark fantasy atmosphere. The cutscenes and combat looked great, bringing that epic feel the series is well known for. I finished off the demo by taking on an icy dragon, which was fitting for the frosty theming of the expansion.

Personally, this was my favourite title I played during my time with Capcom at TGS. I left wanting to play more, and will be counting down the days until its release.
Resident Evils 2, 3 & 4 (Switch 2 – 16th October 2026)

Resident Evil fans are in for a treat this October with three remakes finally heading to Switch 2.
I only had 30 minutes total to play around with all three titles, but I did get to check them out both handheld and docked.
I started with Resident Evil 4, as this is the title I’m most familiar with out of the bunch. I made my way through the first area and thought it looked and played smoothly, with no huge noticeable downgrades. Included in the Gold Edition is the Separate Ways DLC where you play as Ada Wong, which I was very excited to (briefly) play for the very first time.

After realising I was having a little bit too much fun on RE4, I only had very little time to spend on the others. What I did manage to play, though, I thoroughly enjoyed, all looking polished in handheld mode, as well.
Mega Man: Dual Override (Switch 1 & 2 – 2027)

Cards on the table, I’ve never played a Mega Man game before. This was my first experience with the series, and I was a little apprehensive after reading how many times the Push Square folk died in their preview.
Even with the difficulty, I had a lot of fun during my time with the game. The characters, stages, and music are all very bright and charming, with fun platforming and new enemies throughout.
Before starting, there were three chip options to select from, which change the playstyle slightly. ‘Shield’ is what I went with, to help with extra defence, which I most definitely needed. Another helped improve attack, and the third option was to have no chip equipped for a more classic playstyle.
After playing as Mega Man for half the demo, I switched over to Proto Man. He had a closer-range attack, which meant I had to get right into the action. To counter that, though, he had a shield, which — as you can imagine — I was very happy to see.
To say I died a lot would be a huge understatement, but the difficulty felt fair; it was certainly a skill issue and no fault of the game. Dual Override is scheduled to release on both Switch 1 and 2 in 2027, along with a pair of gorgeous new amiibo.
