Two teens arrested in connection to shooting an 11-year-old in Watterson Park
LOUISVILLE, Ky. —
LMPD is investigating after an 11-year-old boy was shot in the Watterson Park neighborhood Saturday night.
Police said the shooting happened around 7:11 p.m. in the 3500 block of Bluegrass Park Drive, which is off Newburg Road.
Officers arrived and found the 11-year-old boy with a gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
LMPD announced two teenagers are in custody in connection to the shooting. A 14-year-old has been charged with 1st degree assault and possession of a handgun by a minor.
A 17-year-old has been charged with wanton endangerment in the 1st degree, possession of a handgun by a minor 1st offense, and tampering with physical evidence.
LMPD’s Homicide Unit is leading the investigation due to the severity of the boy’s injuries.
