Kristen Jones Counselling has expanded its Orillia practice to include therapy for children, adolescents and couples with the addition of registered psychotherapist Eva Webster.
Kristen Jones Counselling has grown. What began as a solo psychotherapy practice serving individual adults in Orillia now offers specialized support for children, adolescents, and couples through the addition of Registered Psychotherapist Eva Webster. The expansion means families can access different kinds of support under one practice.

Kristen Jones
Kristen Jones is a Registered Psychotherapist with a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. Her background includes work in the addictions field, where she developed a deep understanding of how trauma, anxiety, and low self-worth shape people’s lives over time.
“I was a witness to pain and hardships during this time, I was also a witness to self-compassion, resilience, and an individual’s incredible capacity to heal,” says Jones.
Her areas of focus include trauma, grief, anxiety, OCD, PTSD, shame, body-focused repetitive behaviours, substance use disorders, and life transitions. Sessions are available in-person in Orillia and virtually throughout Ontario.
Jones uses an eclectic therapeutic approach drawing from Internal Family Systems, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and EMDR. She’s a Certified Trauma Professional with additional training in Cognitive Processing Therapy, Grief Counselling, Emotion Focused Therapy, Exposure and Response Prevention, and Sand Tray Therapy.
EMDR, or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, uses bilateral stimulation to help people process distressing memories and experiences. While it has roots in trauma treatment, research supports its use for anxiety, addiction, chronic pain, and other concerns.

Eva Webster
Eva Webster joined the practice to extend its reach to populations Jones wasn’t previously serving. She works with children, adolescents, adults, and couples, bringing specialized training in areas including women’s mental health across all life stages, perinatal mental health, grief, trauma, and relationship challenges.
“Healing happens through authentic connection,” says Webster. “My goal is to create a space where you feel safe enough to be fully yourself, where vulnerability is met with empathy, curiosity, and genuine understanding.”
Her work with couples focuses on strengthening connection, improving communication, and working through relationship difficulties. She also supports parents navigating the unexpected weight that sometimes accompanies parenthood.
Webster’s approach is relational and attachment-focused, grounded in the understanding that early relationships shape how people relate to themselves and others throughout their lives. She integrates body-based and cognitive approaches drawing from EMDR, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, somatic approaches, and mindfulness-based interventions.
She continues pursuing advanced training in polyvagal theory, sex and couples therapy, and narcissistic abuse recovery.

What a First Session Looks Like
Many people put off therapy because they don’t know what to expect walking through the door. Both Jones and Webster describe the first session as a conversation rather than an assessment.
“A first therapy session is where we spend time getting to know each other: what brought you to therapy, your challenges, your strengths, how you are supported, and how we can work together to help you grow and thrive,” they explain. “Some first sessions might be emotional, as coming to therapy is a brave step and it might have been some time since you’ve truly felt heard. We don’t push you to say more than you are ready to, and check in with you throughout the session to ensure you feel safe and grounded.”
Working With Children
Children don’t process emotions the way adults do, and Webster’s approach with younger clients reflects that reality.
“Many children communicate and process using play, creativity, and imagination, rather than traditional talk,” says Webster. “By using these, we can establish a safe and engaging space where children can be free to express their needs and emotions.”
Webster also uses somatic interventions with both children and adults, helping clients notice and understand what their bodies are communicating. For children especially, this approach meets them where they are rather than asking them to engage in ways that don’t feel natural.
Booking and Rates
Both therapists offer a free 15-minute consultation call before any commitment is made, giving prospective clients a chance to determine whether there’s a good fit before booking a full session.
Individual therapy with Jones is $155 for a 50-minute session, with 80-minute EMDR sessions available at $232.50. Individual therapy with Webster is $140 for a 50-minute session. Sessions are available in-person in Orillia and virtually throughout Ontario for both therapists.
