Score: 23-19 loss vs. Cleveland Browns

Stat Line: 21 of 34 for 182 yards, a touchdown and an interception

Throughout Baker Mayfield’s career, the former No. 1 overall pick has displayed a tendency of getting too amped up for certain situations, which causes him to force too many passes or outright miss throws he can make.

Sunday’s meeting with the Cleveland Browns was a big one, because the contest served as an opportunity to enact revenge against his original NFL team and the quarterback who replaced him as that squad’s starter.

Instead, Mayfield had multiple bad misses, including the final play of the game despite a streaking Emeka Egbuka open for the potential game-winning touchdown.

To be fair, Mayfield did drop a dime earlier in the same offensive series, which rookie wide receiver Ted Hurst dropped in the end zone. Still, the Browns were downtrodden after their Week 1 performance. Cleveland’s quarterback setup had become a national joke. Mayfield and Co. failed to show up and fell to 0-2 to start the season.
