T’Wolves and Lynx CEO Matt Caldwell said that there is “no set timeline for the arena development.” He added he loves “everybody’s passion,” but it is “going to take a long time.” Caldwell, speaking at the Minnesota Star Tribune’s North Star Summit, noted that the new owners “are ‘very committed’ to making a new venue work downtown.” He said that owners are “not committed to privately financing the project, adding that the team plans to work with the city, county and state.” He said the deal will be “friendly” to the government, but “these things are very public.” Caldwell: “There will be a lot of money invested in it from the ownership” (MINNESOTA STAR TRIBUNE, 9/22).
